Loving Texas!!

Hey everyone!

Another week, another email!

Porter Pass Problems
This week was good and as usual, I'm loving Texas! :)

Tuesday was MLT so we were in a trio for the day with Elder Lloyd (Pronounced "La-Loid"), we have this part in our area called Porter, and it's more like Louisiana than rich Kingwood. Now the only way to get there on bikes is through these things we call "Porter Passes". Which are pretty much small dirt trails in the middle of the woods. While we were riding through them, there was a big rain puddle in the middle and Elder Lloyd decided to try and bike through it. So we all just sat and waited... haha sure enough he got to the middle and his front bike tire sank in the mud. He got soaked and it was pretty funny.

We got C* back on date this week. He should be getting baptized on the 24th! Hopefully it goes through! Pray for him please!

We had a dinner this week and they had a little girl named A* and she's the biggest sweetheart! I don't know why but I've always been drawn to kids. During the entire hour we were there she pulled out her toys one by one and brought them to me to show me and then made a giant pile of them next to my chair. With each new toy, she would say, "Here we go!" Haha it was great.

We had our second top investigator drop us this week... But that's alright, because we are working hard and I know the Lord will bless us because of it!

It's been a rough week with investigators.... lots of drops and fell through appointments... here’s to a better week next week! :)

We were at Wendy's this week and we were with some other Elders and we lined up to get our food. The cashier asked me if we were a part of a school when I started to explain we were missionaries and then a man walked up and said that he was going to pay for all of our food. Haha the look on the cashier’s face was priceless!! She came back while we were eating and she said "I'm traumatized..." haha that was pretty funny.

Saturday was priesthood Saturday and it was raining so literally no one was outside in all of Kingwood. Right before we were about to give up I decided to bike down one more street. We came across a man who was working on some pipes in his yard and we started talking to him. Turns out, he has a best friend that’s from Arizona that's Mormon and he himself has been to our church multiple times! He knew a ton about our religion and was very open to discussing it. Which is a miracle, especially in this area. He said we could come back if we could answer why there are stars everywhere at the temple grounds in Salt Lake. I guess he noticed a bunch of stars while he was there visiting one time. I didn't even know there were stars everywhere so if someone has the answer I'm open to hear it! :)

Well, not much else happened this week... I hope all is going well back home! I love you all and I'm so grateful for your prayers and support!

Love,
Elder Wood
